The National Association of Black Microschool Leaders is a national organization dedicated to advancing educational excellence through the development and support of Black led microschools. Our mission is to reclaim education and reclaim community by fostering high quality, future focused learning environments that respond to the evolving needs of students and families. We are committed to strengthening educational ownership, expanding access to innovative school models, and driving measurable impact across communities nationwide.
Our work is guided by four foundational pillars: Leadership Development, School Design and Innovation, Community and Economic Empowerment, and Policy and Advocacy. Through comprehensive professional development, strategic partnerships, and ecosystem building initiatives, we equip microschool leaders with the tools, infrastructure, and networks required to establish and sustain high performing educational institutions. We support the design of rigorous academic models, promote sustainable operational practices, and advocate for equitable policies that enable microschools to thrive within broader educational systems.
In addition to leadership support, we are building a national microschool directory to increase visibility, strengthen collaboration, and connect families with high quality educational options. By partnering with the National Association of Black Microschool Leaders, donors and institutional stakeholders contribute to a scalable framework for long term educational transformation.
